Things I Love About My Church
·People who want to help and assist. Those who help with mission work, Bible School, youth etc. Prayers and Squares.
·I love the safe and secure feeling of worshipping with fellow Christians that love the same God as I.
·Prayers for others and ourselves.
·Fellowship with others.
·Children’s sermons - (we’re all God’s children!)
·Sharing the Eucharist. (Holy Communion)
·Friendliness of our church.
·Willingness to help those in need for comfort, food or whatever the need is when there is a tragedy.
·The great activities and programs available for kids and families.
·The congregation is very welcoming.
·Helping with Christmas shoe boxes.
·Thanksgiving Ingathering.
·Endowment funded Scholarships for young and old alike.
People Who Made a Difference in My Spiritual Life
·Everyone I have come into contact with at Asbury. Each person has a special quality and gift to share, from a friendly “Hello” on Sunday to a phone call asking where and how we’ve been. We are truly blessed to be a part of this church family.
·Pastor Rich - his willingness to help with whatever needs to be done. His acceptance of each of God’s people. Seeing the good in each person, overlooking our shortcomings.
·Laurene Carter - she is small but mighty, always ready to give of her time, love and talents. Working in Asbury’s Garden, Prayers and Squares, Baptism Quilts, Funeral dinners, Wesley House meals and more. She shows we all have gifts to give to God no matter our size, age or gender and can do good for others everyday without fan fare!
·Rev. Pippert - provides a good example to follow.
·Don Randol - committed to church and helping others.
·Loren and Linda Huber and other “ACTION” members.
·Richard Huber - He has been a lifelong member of our church. He is always willing to help our church in any way; from Bible School, meeting new members, participates in Bible studies. His faith is constant and makes me strive to be a better disciple of Jesus.
·Madena Schlabaugh - when I see her my spirits are lifted. I admire her age and positive personality. She always has something to say that makes you laugh. Madena you inspire me!
·Deb Seward - has taken a talent and hobby and turned it into a Ministry (Quilt Ministry)
·Melanie Stutzman - has so much energy and uses it to help children learn about God.
·Carol Husleberg - I appreciate her contribution to our Church Service. She has a “special gift” to play the music no matter how many flats or sharps are in the musical selection. She always manages to do things with a smile.
Visions and Hopes for My Church
·To continue doing our good works in the community and the world. Provide our children the church guidance and mentoring for their journey of Faith.
·That we continue to be a place where everyone is welcome and can come to experience God’s love. That through Asbury’s programs and committees more can find God’s love.
·A vision of healing and forgiveness - that brothers and sisters will put their differences aside and come together showing love and forgiveness to each other so we can be God’s disciples by sharing the Good News.
Family, food, shelter and love. Libby Baker (things she is thankful for)
